Before You Go* - Clare Swatman
Some people stare love in the face for years before they find it. Zoe and Ed fumbled their way into adulthood, both on different paths - but always in the same direction. Years later, having navigated dead-end jobs and chaotic house shares, romance finally blossoms. Their future together looks set . . Then the unthinkable happens.
One morning, on his way to work, Ed is knocked off his bike and dies. Now Zoe must find a way to survive. But she's not ready to let go of the memories. How can she forget all of the happy times, their first kiss, everything they'd built together? Zoe decides she has to tell Ed all the things she never said.
Now it's too late. Or is it?

When I got sent this book a little while before Christmas I couldn't get over the cover, it is honestly one of the most stunning fiction book covers that I have ever seen.  I knew that a book with a cover so beautiful must hold a really special story inside so I jumped right in and started reading.

I finished the book within a few days as I just had to know what would happen next, my hopes were so high for the main characters that I had to know how their story would end.

This book is a really hard one to review as the story unravels as you read it and I don't want to give too much away and spoil anything, the blurb that I've put above does the best job of summing up the story and the themes in it....So all I will say is its a time travelling, heart wrenching, big hearted, beautifully romantic love story.

This is a really special book.  It feels like this story is one that will connect with so many people. Its definitely not a super light and fluffy read though, so be prepared for a pretty emotional one and for your heartstrings to be well and truly pulled.  It makes you think about life and makes you really 'feel' something, like I felt so much for Zoe and Ed and it's not every book that is able to make you feel so strong about a fictional reality but this really, really captures you.

I always find it hard when people compare things but I wanted to just try and give you some scale of what this book is like, so the nearest thing I could compare it to is The Notebook.  Not that the stories are similar at all, its more about that feeling you get when you watch the notebook, that real emotion most people feel after seeing it, that's what this book does to you.

I really think that so many of you will love this book. This is a grand love story with a fist full of hope and happiness thrown in.

I am so thankful I got to read an early copy of this story and be a part of its book tour too.  As part of the tour I am getting to share with you the playlist that goes along with the book, its filled with so many songs that mean something to Ed and Zoe's story.  The playlist is also just a really good playlist, anything with a mix of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Spice Girls on it is always a winner for me....

Here is the link to listen to it on Spotify.....

The book is out on Feb 9th and you can pre-order it on Wordery and get free Worldwide delivery too.
