Film Review - Bachelor Games

Bachelor Games*
"When five friends embark on a bachelor weekend in Argentina, everyone expects the usual hedonistic business.  They do not expect to find themselves stranded, wounded, and hunted through the Andes. But that’s just what happens when an elaborate scheme for revenge goes horribly awry".

As you guys know I'm not a fan of anything scary in books, TV, film or um real life...but it's a specific kind of scary I don't like.  Anything that is a thriller based, like things that could happen in real life, that's the kind of scary I don't like, I can't take that but far fetched crazy I can do.

So when I saw that this movie was described as a comedy/horror I knew I would be ok as I'm weirdly never that bothered by horror it all seems too unreal and that never bothers me.  I mean don't get me wrong horror is not my go-to genre but it doesn't freak me out like a real thriller/scary movie does.  I know I'm pretty particular right? haha!

Anyway I'm so glad I gave this film a go as I really enjoyed it and to be honest I would say it's a comedy, action film with elements of horror rather than an equal balance as I don't think it has a crazy amount of horror in it.

The basis of the film is 5 guys go on a Bachelor trip to Argentina and get caught up in the part of the country that is famous for its Urban Legend/mythical fable and there is a bit of a twist half way through the film that kinda makes you double guess what is going on too which I really liked.

I loved that the story wasn't straight forward and that it kept you on your toes the whole way through.  I really enjoyed the urban legend type part of the story which is where the horror element of the film comes into it too.

My favourite thing about the film though was the humour, I thought it was actually really funny in some places, a lot funnier than I thought it was going to be.

If you like comedies with that 'lads-go-abroad-type-humour' then I have no doubt that I think you will love this.  Also if you are a horror fan, even though you might think this is a little tame on the scare factor scale I think you will like the film too.

This film definitely surpassed my expectations and I really enjoyed it.  It was fun, funny and a really great watch!

Bachelor Games is available on VOD from the 8th of July and you can pre-order it here on ITunes
