Book Review - Match Me If You Can
Match Me If You Can - Michele Gorman*
"Ever thought about recycling your ex?.
Best friends Catherine, Rachel & Sarah are fun, smart, successful and single – just like millions of women with a low tolerance for idiocy in their dates.
Mr. Right hasn't turned up yet, and Mr Right-Now isn't worth booking a wax appointment for. So when Catherine, London’s finest matchmaker, gets Rachel and Sarah to join her dating site where they can recycle their ex-boyfriends in exchange for an upgrade, they soon realise that anything could happen . . .
Three best friends, proving that sometimes it really isn't you… it's him."
I am so happy that this is my first book review of 2016 on my blog as it's just perfect for this time of year. When the nights are still too dark and its rainy and cold and the promise of any kind of real sunlight is still months away, this book will be like a little piece of sunshine on paper for you. It is such a happy, fun and light read and it will totally make you smile.
I really enjoyed the idea behind the story, when a guy isn't right for you but you know he will be perfect for someone else and I think it's just so true and I loved how Michele explored that whole idea of how and why people are right for each other. The author wrote a lovely piece at the start of the book telling us how she got the idea and how it was inspired by her own life and relationship and I always love when the writer gives you a little bit of insight into what is behind the story. I'm that person who sits after a movie and watches all the DVD extras even when everyone else has left the room, I just love some behind the scene goss haha!
The story really kept me hooked and it was just lovely to read something super fun. If you love a romcom then this is for you as it's got that perfect romantic comedy/Richard Curtis vibe to it. It will make you feel all warm and fuzzy after you've finished reading it!
So I would recommend putting on some cosy PJ's, getting a big blanket and mug of tea and settling down with this read at the weekend.
I really enjoyed this book and I hope you all do too.
