Book Review - A Parcel For Anna Browne

A Parcel For Anna Browne* by Miranda Dickinson
Anna Browne is an ordinary woman living an ordinary life. Her day job as a receptionist in bustling London isn't exactly her dream, yet she has everything she wants. But someone thinks Anna Browne deserves more . . .
When a parcel addressed to Anna Browne arrives, she has no idea who has sent it. Inside she finds a beautiful gift - one that is designed to be seen. And so begins a series of incredible deliveries, each one bringing Anna further out of the shadows and encouraging her to become the woman she was destined to be. As Anna grows in confidence, others begin to notice her - and her life starts to change.
But who is sending the mysterious gifts, and why?

I am going to start putting up some reviews of my favourite Christmas books in the upcoming weeks.  Christmas books are one of my favourite types of books.  They are just so far-fetched and rom-comy (is that a word?) which is why I love them, I doubt that any scenario ever written in a Christmas book has ever happened to anyone before but that's why they are amazing, they make you suspend your disbelief and give you hope that all these magical things really do happen and if there is ever a time of year to be reading (believing) in that kind of thing its Christmas, right? They are just little bundles of feel-good joy in book form, ahh I love them!

Anyway, I wanted to review this book today to set the mood for my Christmas reviews.  This is 100% not a Christmas book, I'm pretty sure the word Christmas isn't even mentioned in it but it is totally a Christmas book, if you know what I mean? Like it really should have been a Christmas book.  The story is just perfect and all that it was missing was the setting of snow, some mince pies and a Christmas tree.

I have actually read a Christmas book from this same author (review coming soon) and I think maybe that's why I had it in my head that this was going to be set at Christmas too but also just that the book had that feel-good happiness factor and I decided to review this just now as it's the perfect book to read right before you get tucked into your Christmas ones.

I really enjoyed this story, its so sweet and simple and your just rooting for Anna Browne the whole way through, the twist of the mystery parcels is great and it will have you desperate to know who is sending them.

It will also drive you a little crazy until you know, you will find Anna Browne seeping into your everyday life (Also you will always refer to her as Anna Browne, never just Anna, shes a total two name kinda gal) I was telling my mama about the book whilst I was reading it and it become a running joke, every time I'd finished reading another bit, she'd be like, 'have you found out who is sending those parcels to Anna browne yet' haha! I decided half way through I would probably never find out in my lifetime who was actually sending them as every time you thought it was going to be revealed you would be met with another twist.
I was all 'Anna Browne who is sending you those damn parcels' until finally, finally I found out and its a really great, lovely ending and I was very happy with who the mystery sender was.

This books leaves you just feeling so happy and really weirdly Christmassy even though there is no mention of the festive period, so there may be a chance that it was me just being a bit weird and doesn't make anyone else feel Christmassy but I'm pretty sure it will...probably.

I have already told my sister she has to read this as I just know she will fall in love with it, we both loved the authors Christmas book a few years ago and I'm pretty sure if you've read anything by the author before you will just adore this book too!

Let me know what you think and if you've read this book and if your a fan of a Christmas book too?
