Book Review - The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight

"Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?
Imagine if she hadn't forgotten the book. Or if there hadn't been traffic on the expressway. Or if she hadn't fumbled the coins for the toll. What if she'd run just that little bit faster and caught the flight she was supposed to be on. Would it have been something else - the weather over the Atlantic or a fault with the plane?
Hadley isn't sure if she believes in destiny or fate but, on what is potentially the worst day of each of their lives, it's the quirks of timing and chance events that mean Hadley meets Oliver...
Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it."

I should just start off this review by saying this book is pretty perfect.  It's one of those books that after I'd finished it all I thought was 'ah I really wish I had wrote that' it is such a simple yet beautiful idea for a story that my inner (wannabe) author just longs to be able to write.

This was set over the period of 24 hours which I just adored too.  The book is really short and it does leave you desperate to read more but you don't have that feeling of being left without an ending.  Everything that really needs answered is there and even though its set over a day it doesn't feel like too much has been crammed into it like others I've read in that same time frame have felt.

My favourite thing about this book was the dialogue and relationship between the two characters.  It's the same reason why one of my favourite ever books is Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and why I was so in love with the Eleanor & Park book too.
Conversation is all that really takes place, nothing really happens other than you get to hear about the  inner workings of the characters, no tragedies, no vampires, no spaceships or worlds ending just people.  That is the kind of stories that I love and The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight is a perfect example if that.
I think it's such a special thing when an author can write two people so beautifully that you feel truly inspired by their story after you've read it and that's exactly the way I felt after I had finished this book.

I would really recommend this to anyone who likes the above books that I mentioned or anyone looking for a short but ultimately pretty perfect read about falling in love.

You can buy it on amazon HERE for £3.86
Or get it on your Kindle for the same price.

Let me know what you think if you've read the book too?

Oh and P.S. All the way through reading this book all I could think was this would make the most amazing film and I'm so happy to have found out that they making it into one.  I think it could become a classic Rom-Com the story is that awesome.  So quick, read it before the movie is out!
